The new Sandy Bridge processors (Core i5 and Core i7 (Extreme)-series) - also 3rd generation - have the Intel Turbo Boost Technology. I wish you luck.Intel Turbo Boost Technology Monitor. Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 has multiple algorithms operating in parallel to manage current, power, and temperature to maximize frequency and energy efficiency.
![]() I rather play my game on the desktop, because the i5 run at 3Ghz constant than my laptop drops it to 2,2Ghz.The only benefit you'll receive is, less stuttering. To have turbo boost, you must at least use 1 core, because thats what turbo boost is designed for.I have a i7 mobile processor and a desktop i5 processor. It will stay at 2.4 Ghz, because TS use 2 cores. Sorry to say, but Turbo Boost is not something you can force. :)Originally posted by Brian1210:I just Needed Anwsers So Whenever I Play A Very Demanding Game That Lags I Know What To Do Thank All Of You So MuchI've seen you have a mobile processor. It will run up to turbo speed unless it gets too hot. I seriously doubt any OEM will turn it off as Intel would likely not be thrilled with that as they tout it as one of the great things about i7's. Even if I got turbo boost on and give me 3,2Ghz, it won't because the game use 2 cores and not 1.Originally posted by Brian1210:Ok Thankyou For Letting Me KnowJust had a few minor things to add as general interest: i7's have Turbo on my default. I also get stutter when assets loading, but less and shorter stutter, because of the 3Ghz CPU. It does stutter when loading new assets while driving, but the overall lag is quite visible, because of 25fps being not enough. My desktop have a GTX770-OC and gives me 60fps, because I enabled V-sync. My laptop have a 740GTM, and gives 25 fps with average settings. Update adobe flash on mac os x 1075 chrome browserTypically without custom cooling units the processor will hit turbo in bursts. In this case you would not want to overclock it for sure. Not typical unless your cooler is full of dust. Whether the processor enters into Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 and the amount of time the processor spends in that state depends on the workload and operating environment.Maximum turbo frequency indicates the highest possible frequency achievable when conditions allow the processor to enter turbo mode. It's also possible it thinks TS is only using one - so something to be aware of with other games.Intel® Turbo Boost Technology 2.01 accelerates processor and graphics performance for peak loads, automatically allowing processor cores to run faster than the rated operating frequency if they’re operating below power, current, and temperature specification limits. It's just something to be aware of. You probably do not have one of these as TS uses more than one and you're getting it to turbo up. It runs at 3.9 all the time except when idle where it clocks itself down to random speeds as low as 1.2 ghz to save power. And third, many i7's will only go to turbo if the processor is only using 1 or 2 cores. I have an i7 4930k which is 3.4 ghz but 3.9 with turbo. Note: Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 allows the processor to operate at a power level that is higher than its TDP configuration and data sheet specified power for short durations to maximize performance.Find more information on Intel® products with Intel Turbo Boost Technology >Originally posted by Phase3:This is from Intel: Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 has multiple algorithms operating in parallel to manage current, power, and temperature to maximize frequency and energy efficiency.
